As a self-proclaimed “composer-turned-game developer,” Greg Watson (b. 1996) has long had an interest in not only creating music for video games, but in creating his own games entirely.
After completing his collegiate studies in 2020, Greg founded his indie game company—Baudrons Studios—and began work on his first-ever video game, Grimmelkïn and the Crystal Gazer. But while his primary focus today is in game development, his roots in music for media remain pivotal in his pursuits.
Greg has composed, orchestrated, and mixed for numerous short films and video games during his career, including Stained Glass (2020), Dead Tongue (2020), and Science Fair Sabotage (2019). On the concert stage, his pieces have been recognized domestically and internationally with features in the Fresh Inc Festival in Kenosha, Wisconsin and the Talis Festival & Academy in Saas-Fee, Switzerland. Additionally, he has received recognition for his orchestral writing as a finalist in the Sioux City Symphony 2019 Call for Scores.
Greg is a graduate of the Seattle Film Institute (M.M.), where he studied film scoring under the direction of two-time Emmy-award winning composer Hummie Mann, and video game composition and sound design under Akash Thakkar. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in music composition from the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music (B.M.). Currently, Greg resides in Cleveland, Ohio with plans to move to Seattle in 2022.
